Brian Kelleher Richter

PhD Candidate in Global Economics & Management at UCLA's Anderson School

Brian K. RichterI am a PhD Candidate entering my fifth and final year of the Global Economics & Management PhD Program at UCLA's Anderson School.

I am on the academic job market in 2009-2010.  Here are quick links to my curriculum vitae, my job market paper, and its appendix .

I am interested in improving our collective understanding: of firms' interactions with governments; and of international financial and economic linkages at the firm-level. Consequently, my research and teaching interests span political economy, strategy (particularly non-market & international), finance (particularly corporate & international), international economics, applied microeconomics, and industrial organization.

While at UCLA I have earned an M.A. in Economics and a C. Phil. in Management.  My prior education includes an S.B. in Management Science (Finance) from MIT's Sloan School of Management and an M.P.I.A. in Asian Markets & Economies from UCSD's Graduate School of International Relations & Pacific Studies.  Outside academia, I have worked in both the public and private sectors, in the U.S. and internationally, including time with the Federal Reserve (in Washington and San Francisco), the Central Intelligence Agency (in Langley), Nomura Securities (in New York), and Sanwa Bank (in Tokyo).
